English term or phrase: low side drive control circuit

Battery voltage is supplied to the switch side of the relay at all times and when the relay is energized battery voltage is supplied to the rear window defogger control circuit. The rear defogger relay is controlled by the rear window defogger switch through a *low side drive control circuit*. Ignition voltage is supplied to the relay coil and when the rear defogger switch is pressed the relay control circuit is grounded and the relay will be energized.

circuito de control por conexión a masa

Explanation:

switch side of the relay= lado del interruptor del rele

A relay is a device that will control high current with low current

The case where the relay is set to have a negative sequence response (C20), presents a more difficult
analysis. Due to the fact that the positive sequence constant (C1) is opposite in sign to the negative
sequence constant (C2), and considering the fact that the high side positive sequence current will lead the
low side current by 30 degrees, and the high side negative sequence current will lag the low side current
by 30 degrees for a standard transformer, it can be shown that a phase B-to-C fault or a phase C-to-A fault
will produce the highest sequence output of all the low voltage phase faults. A C-to-G fault will produce the
highest filter output current for phase-to-ground faults on the low voltage side of the transformer. It
depends on the values of Z and ZT as to whether the phase-to-phase or phase-to-ground fault produces
the larger output. Therefore both must be considered.

This means that a disconnection during normal operation, with a duration of less than 5 ms
does not affect the status output. Equally, any re-connection of less than 5 ms during a
disconnection duration does not affect the status output. No delay occur for the status to go
low in case of overtemperature conditions. From the falling edge of the input signal the
status output initially low in fault condition (over temperature or open load) will go back with
a delay (tpovl)in case of overtemperature condition and a delay (tpol) in case of open load.
These feature fully comply with International Standard Office (I.S.O.) requirement for
automotive High Side Driver. To protect the device against short circuit and over current
conditions, the thermal protection turns the integrated Power MOS off at a minimum junction
temperature of 140 oC.
