Thanks for your help in advance. This text is related to greenhouse growing production of tomatoes. In Spanish I have found "plantón" for young plant. Are there any other options? Could "mata" fit in this context? Thanks again.

plantones o plantas jóvenes... (depende del contexto)


Explanation:
Si son plantas pequeñas que provienen de un semillero y se van a transplantar, por ejemplo en una huerta, se habla de plantones.

El término plantas jóvenes sería adecuado en un contexto más general, no es tan específico como el término plantón.

La mata se refiere más bien al tipo de planta. Una mata de tomates no va a dejar de ser mata por mucho que crezca.
