CONTEXT:

"This breakfast cereal is made from a traditional variety of wheat which is endemic to certain areas of Central Asia. Although its only visual difference is the presence of carneous leaves, it is markedly richer in iron and magnesium."

A mí me parece que es lo segundo, ya que me cuesta imaginarme el trigo con hojas carnosas, pero no sé... El contexto que nos das es insuficiente para saber a cual de las dos opciones se refiere. ¿Hay alguna imagen que nos pueda dar una pista?

Explanation:
En botánica se les llama hojas pulposas

Por ejemplo la pita, es una planta silvestre con espinas de la familia de las agaváceas, que crece soportando la sequía gracias al agua que almacena en sus hojas pulposas. La floración se produce a los 20-25 años, y luego la planta muere.
