Filial Bancaria Doméstica de Intitución Extranjera Explanation: Banking corporations financing international commerce, chartered by the Federal Reserve Board under the 1919 amendment to the Federal Reserve Act. They are owned by State chartered or National banks and may operate interstate branches, accept deposits outside the U.S. and invest in non-U.S. firms. They make equity investments under Federal Reserve Regulation K in foreign corporations, such as merchant banks or finance companies. They buy and sell notes, drafts and bills of exchange and basically complement the international banking activities of their parent banks. Hope this is helpful. |
