English term or phrase: Grandparent job vs parent job
Hola a todos, could somebody please advise if there are any standard terms for "grandparent" and "parent" when referring to jobs (as in projects)? The text I have simply says: "Enter the name of the grandparent job (project)". Then the same "...of the parent job". In the past I had used principal for parent but now that grandpa has shown up, I feel a little cornered. When providing suggestions, could you kindly advise supporting reference material, if available, as the client is very fussy. Many thanks.

*original* lept to mind immediately, but my husband, who has umpteen years experience teaching this stuff, suggests *histórico* as a better alternative.

It is acceptable to use this form. Specially since there is no specficaction on whether the parent or grandparent is female or male.

Since you are "stuck" with principal as the parent project, perhaps you could use "master" o "proyecto maestro" as the grandparents project? just a thought
