Explanation:
Hola Robert:

Q: What is the difference between a "consumer report" and an "investigative consumer report?"

A: A "consumer report" is any communication, oral or written, by a consumer reporting agency that (1) bears on an individual's character, general reputation, personal characteristics, mode of living, credit worthiness, credit capacity, or credit standing and (2) is used or expected to be used as a factor in determining the individual's eligibility for credit or employment purposes. An "investigative consumer report" is a consumer report in which some of the information is obtained through personal interviews with the individual's neighbors, friends, associates, or acquaintances. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) reportedly takes the position that criminal background checks are "investigative consumer reports." The restrictions imposed on an employer depend on which type of report the employer plans to obtain.

Para hacerla más corta, usé informe de consumidor e investigación de consumidor.

José Luis, te estoy viendo patas para arriba. ¿Será que estoy mareado por el trabajo, o es un espejismo?...

Gracias.
