Explanation:
Así aparece en todos los informes economicos cuando se refiere al mismo período del año anterior.
Fijate que PBI se utiliza en Argentina, otros utilizaron otras denominaciones asique verifica cual se usa en el pais para donde estes traduciendo.

agree  Graciela Carlyle: me gusta "respecto del" pero hay que agregar que se trata del = periodo que se menciona pero en el año anterior. Ese es el sentido exacto de "year on year". Sino podría confundirse que se compara el cuarto trimestre del 2001 con el todo año anterior

GDP > Gross Domestic Product. I'd translate "domestic" for "nacional" rather than "interior" [hence PNB and not PIB] although the latter form is also acceptable...
