Bus/Financial - Business/Commerce (general) / merger, assets terminology
English term or phrase: sacred cows
We may have some opportunities with the gold aspect of xxxxx's business, and we'll be looking broadly. As I said, no sacred cows; we'll be looking at things. But there are no, there are no specific plans to sell any asset at this point.

vacas sagradas

Explanation:
Making a reference to the sacred cows in India, good day!

That's exactly what it means, and it's perfectly understandable in Spanish, there's no sacred cows in business, i.e., you can look for oportunities everywhere, it's the same in Spanish, since it is a very well known phrase

No hay ningún gurú

Explanation:
or alternative "Nadie es gurú", or something along those lines.
What they're trying to say is that no one has the last word; no one is considered an expert and all opinions will be heard.

That's my interpretation!

"vacas sagradas" is literally correct, but may lead to confusion.

neutral  Margarita M. Martínez: no veo porqué la confusión... No hay ningún gurú, nadie es profeta en su tierra, son frases hechas "similares", pero no significan lo mismo. Vacas sagradas son vacas sagradas (o sacred cows). :)
1 hr
-> I wonder how the entire phrase would read. Apparently, "sacred crows" ist not as straightforward as one would think. Otherwise the asker would've known right away what they're referring to.
