In inspecting the QC records, an out-of-control situation was identified and the corrective action was documented as “repeated, repeated, got lucky!” That phrase captures a QC practice that is common in many laboratories – repeat the control until it finally falls within the limits. In the incident sited, the analyst was honest enough to know that nothing had changed with the quality of the testing process except, luckily, the control finally fell within acceptable limits.
The article I am translating is about Quality Control (QC) by Westgard. It is a book that deals with some rools laboratories should take into account when dealing with QC.
I have a problem with the sentence "HONEST ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT" which is located at the fifth line at the very beginning of it. I can not find the exact translation because I think I do not understand the sentence enough, either.
