¡Hola a todos! Estoy trabajando con subtitulado y tengo dudas sobre este término. En una de las escenas, uno de los protagonistas describe cómo debe ser una serie de televisión, y dice:

"The way I see the series is,
each week, we open with
an authentic act of political terrorism,
taken on the spot
and in the actual moment.
Then we go to the drama
behind the opening film footage."

Explanation:
Si quisieras usar la traducción de footage, sería PIETAJE. El término es exclusivo de la industria del cine y es como se usa para referirse al material filmado (no es reconocido por la RAE).

Ahora, usar TOMAS no es correcto, pues una toma es una de las veces que filmas una escena. El editor/director elige la mejor "toma", la edita junto con otras tomas y las convierte en una secuencia.

las tomas del inicio de la película


Explanation:
"Footage" se refiere a material grabado o filmado que no necesariamente ha sido editado, por eso uso "tomas" en lugar de "escenas", que sí son editadas. Espero te sirva.

agree  garci: Aunque no aceptado por la RAE, el término "PIETAJE" es efectivamente el usado en el medio (cuando menos en México); sin embargo, si la película es para proyección para Argentina y dirigida a personas ajenas al medio, "secuencia" parece más apropiado.
