Curtida
Explanation:
Curtida

Explanation:
Please forgive my explanation in English, but I can give you an idea, and then maybe you can form the final answer. Seasoning is a process used to make certain cooking utensils stick free and flavorful. My mom "seasons" her cast iron skillet after she washes it. She puts oil or some kind of fat in it and puts it in a VERY hot oven or on the stovetop. This makes the oil and carbonized food enter the pores of the skillet. This prevents rust, keeps food from sticking and gives it flavor (as I see I have already said). For a grill, especially one boasting a PHilly cheese state (one of Pennsylvania's many attributes to American cuisine) probably has been treated with fat and has lots of carbonized food on it. This gives it a unique flavor. If I had to give a phrase in Spanish, it would be SOMETHING like- impregnado con el sabor de 70 años (although that may sound a little gross!) or maybe "tratado para darle el sabor que ud. espera" I sure hope this rambling has helped give an idea.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to write, or enter "seasoning cast iron" in google to get some good articles.
Best of luck!

Sorry, but I don't know what you are trying to show me with that link. I had only asked for a reason why and asked a question. Yes, I believe you that for a person or possibly food, curtido is used. No arguments here. But for objects?
I really don't think this is worth getting worked up over.

agree Taña Dalglish: I agree. Nothing like "well-seasoned" cookware! I still have my Mom's from donkey's years ago! Saludos Marsha.

-> I prefer Teflon, but I'll never forget the day I left food in the skillet and got a lecture on SEASONING! Everything for a reason, right? Saludos!

agree urst: well done

-> Thanks, I appreciate that my ranting was not for nothing! I appreciate it!

disagree James A Walsh: I totally disagree.

-> Could you tell us why? As far as I know, curtida means an experienced or hardened person or tanned leather

Explanation:
