hola lida,

extraño uso, si no es que en "country", "state" y "province" sea el centro geográfico.

yo diría población o localidad localidad/población grande o de gran tamaño, localidad/población de un estado, población/localidad importante de un país...

tal vez tengas que pensar en varias opciones, unas veces localidad, otras capital (si es que procede en algún caso), otras veces ciudad, otras veces "núcleo urbano", otras "población"

en un principio puse localidad, pero luego pensé en \"población\" y lo agregué en la explicación, ¡aunque se me olvidó en la definición!

en realidad lo veo mejor ajustado que localidad.

lo que veo extraño en español es si dices \"centro de ciudad grande\" o \"centro grande de ciudad\" y luego una cifra entre 50k y 1 millón de habitantes. ¿qué tiene 1 millón de habitantes la ciudad o el centro de la ciudad?
