English term or phrase: overshoot/undershoot
The absence of a vertex at the intersection point may lead to overshoots and undershoots when the lines are converted to the XXX map format. If your source data has a node-arc topology to begin with, you should not have any problems.

COLGADO, CORTO, DANGLE (DANGLE). Error topológico que ocurre cuando un arco posee un nodo con valencia 1, o sea, se conecta con un sólo segmento. Cuando el resultado de un error "dangle" es un polígono abierto, se habla de "arco corto" (undershoot) o "nodo dangle" (dangling node). Si por el contrario, el arco mal digitalizado sobrepasa la intersección con otro arco, entonces se trata de "arco largo" (overshoot) o "arco dangle" (dangling arc).
