English term or phrase:Phishing if this is news to you!
The above phrase is a tittle. the term phishing is used ambiguously in this instance, as you can see, and I don't know how to translate it in this context.
I can suggest ¡Pescando si esto es nuevo para usted! but it sounds strange to me.
Just one more comment... depending on the context, you may want to consider using Ustedes rather than the singular (i.e., is it addressed to one person or a general audience, and if it is addressed to a general audience, is the tone of the article as if the author is speaking directly to each individual or addressing them as a group?). Also, not sure about using noticia in the singular. It translates correctly, but "noticias" sounds better.
Thanks, Maria.. I do agree with Tony that "news" should be translated as "noticias." As far as translating the "if," I think you have to accurately translate the phrase or sentence, which doesn't always mean giving a literal translation of each word in the sentence. In this case, "if" is a shorthand for saying "to see if," or "to check if," or "to find out if"
No entiendo por qué traducís news como nuevo, la verdad. Como ya he comentado para una de las propuestas, news es noticias o novedades. Nuevo es new. A menos que lo hayas escrito incorrectamente de entrada, Maria, en cuyo caso vayan mis disculpas por adelantado.

Lo único que se me ocurre que puede ser es que quieren decir que algún mensaje que hayan recibido es phishing si es completamente nuevo para la persona el tema de ese mensaje; que la persona no sabía sobre eso... Suerte.

Explanation: I think you're on the right track in that "phishing" is used in an unusual way here, and you can either use it untranslated or you can use "Pescando," but I would add "a ver" or "para ver", because what they are really saying is.. "fishing to see if this is news to you." Hope this helps.
