Explanation:
Siento llevaros la contraria, pero se dice "ciclo de reloj". Se entiende por ciclo de reloj el tiempo que pasa cuando el oscilador de cuarzo pasa de 0 a 1 o de 1 a 0. Es decir, cuando pasa de 0V a +5V.
Te envío un enlace con un diagrama de ciclos. Un ciclo es cada vez que pasa de high a low o viceversa. Decir "impulsos" sería totalmente incorrecto, porque implicaría que sólo se cuentan los estados en que hay tensión (+5V) y excluiría los estados en los que no la hay (0V). Dicho de otra forma, un impulso contiene dos ciclos, y en la lógica binaria todo se cuenta en 0 y 1, o sea que los 0 tienen el mismo valor que los 1 a efectos de ejecución de instrucciones. Decir impulsos sería como decir que sólo se ejecutan instrucciones cuando el reloj está en 1, o sea que los ordenadores serían la mitad de rápidos, por no decir que no funcionarían en absoluto porque se necesitan los dos estados: 0 y 1

Donce digo "impulsos" quiero decir "pulsaciones".
Es como el TIC-TAC de un reloj de péndulo. Un ciclo es cada TIC (0) y cada TAC (1). Una pulsación sería como decir que sólo pasan cosas cuando hay un TAC, y los relojes se mueven gracias a los TACS, pero también gracias a los TICS. Pues lo mismo ocurre con los relojes de los ordenadores: también pasan cosas cuando hay un TIC.
