Definición: Inundación, en castellano, es una ataque para expulsar a alguien. Para evitar ser inundado por una excesiva cantidad de peticiones de sus clientes un servidor le asigna a cada usuario una cantidad determinada de flujo de datos. Si se sobrepasa, cierra automáticamente la conexión por “Excess Flood”. El ataque de “flood” consiste en enviar mucha información en muy poco tiempo y desbordar un servidor IRC, un cliente del IRC o casi cualquier cosa que esté conectada a Internet. El truco más fácil consiste en realizar muchas peticiones de información a la víctima para que cuando conteste supere el flujo establecido por el servidor y éste le eche para evitar el “flood”.
