La ayuda flotante es muy parecida al salto a capítulo descrito en la sección anterior. La diferencia estriba en que en lugar de generar un salto a otro capítulo, muestra el texto de ese otro capitulo en una ventana que parece flotar justo por debajo del texto que genera el hipervínculo.
Para mostrar una ayuda de estas características es importante tener en cuenta que el texto a mostrar no puede ser excesivamente largo. Su uso es muy adecuado para mostrar aclaraciones sobre terminos concretos.
