Mira la segunda definición (copiada) de "bypass"

Diccionario Oxford

que usar intermediarios

Dice "pasar por encima de su supervisor" y es la respusta que dio Henry. Si es alguien de la misma compañía, sí. Pero si es competencia e otra compañía que fue subcontratada para brindar el servicio, entonces sería "evitar la capacidad de itnermediario" de uno.

En este caso, como hace referencia a los "clientes" y no a otros empleados, si no me equivoco se refiere a la competencia.
