Explanation:
IDL es "Interactive Data Language" (No creo que haya uso de sus siglas en español "LDI, Lenguaje de Datos Interactivo" y supongo que de usarse así no sería reconocido como tal.)
Este lenguaje de análisis de datos en base a arreglos (arrays) es muy común en la manipulación de datos gráficos e imágenes, particularmente en aplicaciones de SIG (Sistemas de Información Geográfica) y la manipulación de imágenes astronómicas. La versión 2 es bastante viejita, yo he desarrollado aplicaciones de IDL en versión 8.
