Veo dos posibilidades:
1) que se trate de una pieza de agarre en el extremo del cable que el técnico sujeta durante la conexión/desconexión (su función es similar al cuerpo de un enchufe)
2) que se trate de un conector en el que se introducen uno o más cables; luego se baja una palanca que presiona los conductores y los fija en posición (similar a los conectores múltiples de las computadoras)
En cualquiera de los casos, puede utilizarse "inserto de sujeción" ("inserto" aparece en los diccionarios, http://books.google.com/books?id=ZIU4-UjfzYcC&pg=PA750&dq="i... ). Si se trata del caso 1), sería más específica la segunda sugerencia ("agarre") y, si es el caso 2), la tercera (fijación).
