en un texto que habla sobre modulos de entrada y salida aparece lo siguiente:

The digital input/output modules DC522 and DC523 can be used as remote expansion modules at the FBP Interface Module DC505-FBP, at the CS31 Bus Module DC551-CS31 or locally at an AC500 CPU.

They contain 16 or 24 channels with the following features:
DC522:
Two 24 V DC 0.5 A sensor power supplies with short-circuit and overload protection
16 digital inputs/outputs 24 V DC in one group (2.0...2.7 and 4.0...4.7), of which each can be used
as an input,
as a re-readable output (combined input/output) with the technical data of the digital inputs and outputs.

Explanation:
La empressa alemana Phoenix Contact BmbH (probablemente sea una filial) publicó un folleto en varios idiomas. Así aparecen estas frases:

• with 8 digital in- and 8 digital re-readable outputs.
• avec 8 entrées et 8 sorties numériques pouvant être relues
• con 8 ingressi digitali e 8 uscite digitali rileggibili
• con 8 entradas digitales y 8 salidas digitales de re-lectura

Notarás que los tres idiomas latinos mencionan un concepto similar: relues (releídas), rileggibili (releíbles) y "re-rectura" (pero escribirlo con guion está mal).

Una descripción adicional, por si alguno la entiende:

• If the terminals are used as digital outputs, the output signals "1" are individually monitored by the re-read-able input. If the output status is wrong, an overall error message is generated for the involved output group. The error is displayed by the red LED Ovl. and by error flags of the PLC then. The error could have been caused by overload, short-circuit or missing supplyvoltage UP5/ZP5.
