I think there is a typo here somewhere but even so, I don't understand what this term means in this context.

One of the key areas was the interoptability we had between systems. And that brought about poor performance from our existing environment.

The ability to utilize the interoptibility between Microsoft.net and Microsoft SQL Server and its functionality has also proven its benefits by reducing the time that it takes to do queries, increasing the amount of performance we get out of the system and leveraging of the latest SQL database technologies from Microsoft.

Maybe it is "interoperability" in both examples?
