Creo que en este texto está mal empleado el término "pellet" que, como bien indican los colegas, es una bola o pelota de aserrín o astillas muy pequeñas aglomeradas mediante una resina adhesiva.
Lo que entiendo del texto es que:
1. La cabeza de los tornillos avellanados debe quedar bajo el nivel de la superficie de la madera, mínimo 6 mm.
2. El (mal llamado) "pellet" debe obtenerse de madera similar, hacer coincidir la veta (entre la madera y el "pellet") y aplicar adhesivo hasta el final del hoyo (que dejó la cabeza hundida del tornillo)
3. El "pellet" debe luego rebajarse (usualmente mediante lija) hasta quedar al mismo nivel de la superficie de la madera

Luego, creo que se trata de un pequeño tarugo de madera sólida, no aserrín o astillas aglomeradas, pues hay que alinear la dirección de las vetas, y los "pellets" no tienen veta (que yo sepa).
