English to Spanish translations [PRO]

English term or phrase: "unique suffices"

This appears in a procedure from an engineering company. I have to translate it into Spanish (Chile). I don't understand what they mean by "unique suffices". I've been browsing the web but I only found it mentioned in a computer-related webpage.

This is the context. It appears in a section called "Job Numbering"
"A single prime job number (PU-PPPP) is normally assigned for each client project. Occasionally, a single client project will be split across two or more prime job numbers, but that is rare. As part of the overall job numbering scheme, 'unique suffices' maybe added to delineate individual engineering, procurement, and construction efforts. 'Unique suffices' may also be used to define process units or other physical definition as outlined in the project WBS"

Has anybody seen this before? Any ideas on how to translate it? Please help. Thank you!
