He estado buscando en google y en muchas web sites de cocina aparece el termino "patatas desmenuzadas".

Todo depende del contexto, pero "tinned cherries" tambien podria ser "cerezas en lata".... En el sentido que se va ha hacer un postre usando cerezas en lata.
