No sé si te parece bien la sugerencia, pero de acuerdo con este artículo de una página de noticias sobre la Universidad de Yale, ese es el concepto:
• That’s why Karen Dougherty, Yale Dining Services’ Executive Dietician, was surprised to hear that “random chicken breast” made an appearance on a nutrition label in the dining hall last week. [...] Turns out the term isn’t so much some sort of probability indication as it is one of size. Dougherty explained that YDS saves money because it buys chicken breasts that aren’t sized, and lets students choose between big and small portions in the dining hall kitchen trays. So they’re “random” chicken breasts, rather than 4-ounce chicken breasts or 6-ounce chicken breasts. But she agreed that the word may not be the best way to describe an ingredient on a dining menu. Georgina, como ha hecho notar Adriana, en esta receta el significado original del término se ha perdido detrás de una mera designación.
"Random" originalmente denota una variedad de pesos (de 4,5 a 6,75 onzas, por propia confesión del fabricante en http://wtgroup.ca/FoodSection/index_files/ProductDetail_IQFC... ), pero el autor de tu receta parece creer que se trata de una variedad de pollo. La interpretación correcta recae en el idiotismo "random-size 6-oz chicken breast".
De acuerto con los pesos mencionados en ambas páginas de referencia, un peso de 6 onzas sería más bien una pechuga de tamaño grande.
En fin, ahora tienes ambas alternativas: o es "random" o pesa 6 onzas. |
