English term or phrase: low historical P/E multiples
I am translating an article on economics. The context: ..."In addition, we have initiated some small positions among the major biotech companies within the US that have strong product pipelines, large market capitalizations (in excess of US$10 billion) and trade at low historical P/E multiples". I do not understand the hole prhase: low historical P/E multiples. I think the key is in multiples....Thanks for your help

Donde la ganancia por accion= ganancia/número de acciones emitidas.

Explanation:
P/E es el ratio precio/beneficio, o PER. En inglés suele denominarse "múltiple" porque es precisamente eso: un múltiplo entre la cotización de un valor y su beneficio por acción (actual o proyectado), o en otras palabras, el número de veces que el beneficio está contenido en la cotización. Un ratio PER bajo en términos históricos, suele indicar que la acción en cuestión está barata.

Yo lo traduciría como "......y que cotizan a ratios PER históricamente bajos".

A veces he visto "multiple" traducido literalmente como "múltiplo" en este contexto, pero en mi opinión "ratio PER" es mucho más claro. Ten en cuenta también que mucha gente considera que "ratio" es femenino, cada cual su preferencia.
