English term or phrase: time in and time out

Los términos están utilizados en un contexto que habla de la disciplina de los niños pequeños. Time out, podría ser penitencia, o tiempo de reflexión. Mi pregunta es ¿time in? Ya que el maestro dice que está a favor de "time in" y no de "time out". No se me ocurre una palabra en español para esta idea. Muchas gracias:))

Muy interesante la cita Esteban... entonces yo traduciria estos terminos por "time out = aislar" y "time in = reconectar". Muy interesante!!! Parece que en el primero el niño está "pasivo", como esperando a que se le pase la rabieta, mientras que en el segundo está intentando calmarse "activamente", incluso interaccionando con otra persona.

Explanation:
"Time out" is time spent outside the classroom itself, usually in isoloation in a quiet area where, to put it in behavioral psychology terms, reinforcemnent is not possible (i.e., in a classroom setting, this means that the child cannot participate in classroom activities while s/he is in "time-out". "Time-in" simply signfies the time during which the child IS in the classroom (and, in behavioral psych terms, is eligible for reinforcement.

En contraste con el método pedagógico del "time-out", a donde al niño se le "destierra" temporalmente mientras resuelve su mal comportamiento, la pedagogía del "time-in" aboga por el método inverso: invitar al niño a un rincón donde tiene confort y si lo quiere compañía para discutir amigablemente la causa de su mal comportamiento. Antes de reincorporarse al resto de la familia.
