I know this is not a "technical term", but I can't find a good way to translate it as part of this sentence: "The authors recognize that the teaching practices of the subject teacher that engaged the students in the discipline of history 'do support the development of complex writing skills even when these writing skills are not the object of explicit instruction' ".
