| English term or phrase: mind map | Have participants do a mind-map. This serves to introduce the participants to interactive learning, build safety and generate energy.
Suggestions for words or topics to be used for this: the name of the city or country where the workshop is being held, words like fun, life, music, art, etc. Hand out a blank sheet of paper to each participant. Ask then to write the key word or topic in the middle of the page and circle it. One of the facilitators can model this on a white board or flip chart for the group.
Give them 2 minutes to do the following as individuals: invite them to branch out from the center by adding any other words they feel are in some way related to the main thematic word. They can add multiple branches or levels as they work out toward the edges of the paper. Be creative!
Keep it light at this point in the process. |
