Explanation:
La frase completa que yo sugeriría es: "Los miembros de una familia suelen competir unos con otros o intentar demostrar su superioridad con respecto a los demás." Es mucho más largo que el texto original, pero creo que capta muy bien el significado de "one-upmanship", que no tiene traducción directa al castellano.
