Explanation:
This is the expression that would be used in Mexico as an equivalent for "homeroom teacher"; in other words, where you go in the mornings for attendance, morning announcements, pledge of allegiance, etc. I understand the "flex period" as an equivalent to what we used to know as "study hall". I think this is the one that goes along with the context of the document. I am from Pennsylvania, but I graduated long before this "flex" crap! Good luck!

Hay tres tipos de profesores.
