agree  Joseph Tein: Aprecio las otras elegantes traducciones, pero ésta, de una persona cuya lengua materna es el inglés, es la más exacta. No falta más que 'se callan.' Mi Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary dice 'clam up = to become silent.'
