aunque ground significa suelo o terreno, creo que el significado es este:

Los estudiantes no podrán abandonar (la propiedad de) la escuela una vez que hayan ingresado a la misma.

Quizás ni siquiera haga falta poner la propiedad de. Ingresan a la escuela y no pueden salir de la misma.
