English to Spanish translations [PRO]
Education / Pedagogy / Education | | English term or phrase: A Teacher as One Part Scientist | Es un subtítulo en un libro sobre observación y registro del comportamiento de párvulos (niños de edad preescolar).
No se me ocurre cómo decirlo graciosamente en castellano (para Chile).
Para que tengan una idea de a qué se refiere este subtítulo, transcribo el párrafo que le sigue:
In suggesting that teachers study children by careful observation and recording of behavior, we are borrowing a tool from scientific research that has sought to achieve the utmost objectivity and dispassion. For teachers observing the children with whom they work and live, absolute objectivity is impossible, and objectivity itself becomes a relative thing. One hopes that no teachers would ever try for so much objectivity that they would cease to be responsible and responsive adults to their children. It is far better for a child to have a warmly interested teacher who has kept no records than a meticulous observer with no warmth. Buf if we do not strive for the kind of absolute objectivity that eliminates all feeling, we do seek awareness on the part of teachers of the kinds of personal, subjective feelings that tend to color records. The picture of a child that is influenced by such teacher involvement might not be a true picture of the child at all.

Este concepto se ha utilizado mucho en educación desde que Stenhouse lo introdujera en el marco de la evaluación. En principio se refería a la investigación sobre su propia acción educativa, pero el concepto se ha popularizado tanto que su significado se ha ampliado y me parece correcto utilizarlo en el contexto que describes.
Si el libro tiene alguna relación con la evaluación del aprendizaje utilizaría esto sin dudar.
Otra posibilidad más general:
"El profesor: también un científico" Esto resaltaría el 'one part'

Debido al contexto que envías es que lo enuncio cómo pregunta, pues no es la condición deseable para el docente en el aula. Aunque también hay docentes que hacen investigación científica...! Pero este no es el caso. SUERTE!
