Of course, Business and Community Engagement is a two way street - whilst the community benefits from the institution's knowledge and expertise, the institution benefits from the experience of engaging with the business or social community in practice.

por lo que he podido ver, se refiere a la tercera función o misión de las universidades: producción del conocimiento, transmisión del conocimiento y transferencia del conocimiento. Esta última función vendría a ser la 'third stream'. Por lo tanto, serían actividades de la tercera función (o "misión", como lo he encontrado también).
