We could improve our ability to work with colleagues in higher education who share similar purposes and objectives. Sometimes our two communities of discourses fail to connect. Sometimes, maybe, we feel and display apparent moral superiority. Perhaps also there is resentment at the more privileged conditions enjoyed by higher education staff and ‘regular’ degree students. For those working in universities, the attractions and rewards of academic success may narrow their horizons and curtail their aspirations for adult learners.

alumnos regulares universitarios /alumnos regulares de carrera

Explanation:
en Epaña degree es carrera, no decimos nada de grado ( a menos que se trate de algun curso de grado superior, ingeniería o algo así)
como sinónimo de "de carrera" creo que se puede decir "universitarios" pues quien estudia una carrera es considerado estudiante universitario.

En el enlace que te he copiado arriba se habla de regular degree stuents as opposed to provisional degree students. No sé si esto puede ayudar a la hora de entendre quienes son los regular degree students. ¡Suerte!
