English to Spanish translations [PRO]
Social Sciences - Education / Pedagogy / English schools | | English term or phrase: banding test | Banding is a method of grouping children by ability. They take a banding test and each child will be allocated a band based on their test score.
I am completely at a loss as to how to translate banding and band in this context. I thought it is the same use of the word as in "tax bands" (The country is England, by the way). But I cannot find how to translate that either.
I wonder if someone can help. |

Bueno, hice algunas búsquedas y encontré este link de un diario en Camden donde habla de los alumnos que deben tomar este examen:
Under a banding system, the school youngsters go to is determined by an aptitude test. Q: What if I do badly? Children may end up in the bottom band.

Luego en base a esto busque el sistema de educación en Inglaterra y encontré que muchos usan directamente "banding".
Igualmente me parece que prueba o examen de aptitud no es una mala opción.

Para "banding" yo diría "asignación de grupos". Sería algo así: "La asignación de grupos es un método consistente en agrupar a los niños según su capacidad / aptitud"

Asker: Me inclinaba por tu sugerencia pero como no se en qué consiste el test (preguntas abiertas o de opciones) decicí utilizar prueba.
