En el PET de Cambridge, el informe de los resultados individuales incluye:

Así pues, me parece que lo mejor sería mantener el término "borderline" en la traducción y dar un equivalente en español, que creo que sería "aprobado justo". En cuanto a "modules", me parece preferible emplear la expresión "partes del examen", que aparece en la información oficial en español citada arriba.

La frase original se refiere a un requisito: hay que poseer el título del Preliminary English Test, y la parte entre paréntesis expresa la calificación mínima que el candidato tiene que haber conseguido para ser admitido al curso en cuestión.
