The word "mainstream course" has many meanings: in a US grade school it is a class where special learners (including ESL learners) are in with regular students; in a US college, it can be a class that is not remedial, or one that is specially designed for ESL students; it can also have the meaning Marjory gives it. We need the grade level, the country, and we need to know if the speaker is an ESL student or just a typical student. Ideally we also need to know what Spanish speaking country the translation is for.
