Me parece que "in its lived context" es una frase de "metadiscourse" (metadiálogo) que no se necesita... no añade nada a la oración en mi opinión (pero tampoco puedo ver la frase entera).
"erudición" y "educación" no son iguales; "educación" es un anglicismo que frecuentemente se emplea incorrectamente en vez de "erudición." Es decir que es, yo pienso, más castizo.
