And this is the complete parragraph:
Friendship Ministries began in 1982 when a family with a child with mental impairments requested materials to help them in the spiritual nurture of the youngster. The Board of Publications of the CRC responded to their request and began to publish educational resources. Today Friendship programs are a vital ministry in many denominations, ranging from the Salvation Army to the Roman Catholic Church.
Please can anyone help me with this? I have a problem with the work "child" in this sentence. I have thought of several options
1. un(a) nino(a)....sounds too formal for the context because it is acutally part of a book
2. nino...but I do not know if it is a boy
3. nina...but I do not know if it is a girl
There is no way I can tell the gender of the child from the rest of the text either.
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance to everyone. :) |

Yo usaría el término "hijo" en masculino, porque igual, se considera como neutro cuando no se conoce el sexo, ¿no?
En vez de "familia", usaría "pareja": "Una pareja con un hijo...etc etc"
