English term or phrase: non-communicable (treatment)
Contexto: formularios Individualized Education Program (IEP) del Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD).

En la sección de "Health":

"(The student is) Receiving medication as prophylaxis for infection since 3-2-04. ***Ongoing treatment for infection is non-communicable***"

Lo que no comprendo es la forma en que está escrita la frase. Es la infección la que debería ser "no transmisible", no el tratamiento!!?!?! ¿no?

¿Será que estoy interpretándolo mal?

Gracias.

no transmisible/transferible
Explanation:
I don't think you're misinterpreting, but I do think this is badly expressed in English. When medications are prescribed, many are stated to be "no transferible", i.e. they cannot be administered to other patients apart from the one they are meant for.

Hope this helps.
