Context: Manual of a keypad controlled door alarm

The box comes with: "the KEYPAD CONTROLLED DOOR ALARM, the INSTRUCTION MANUAL, SIREN, BATTERY LOW INDICATOR and a KEYPAD MAGNETIC SENSOR"

The problem is in this sentence:

"IMPORTANT: Remove batteries before storing the Alarm and **Remote** for extended periods. "

That's the only place 'remote' is in the text. I can only assume it refers to the magnetic sensor, but I'm not sure about this. I need a term that's as generic as posible. I'm thinking 'terminal remoto' but there may be a better term out there.
