Control of winder rope grease contamination.
There is a serious risk of grease contaminating the brake path which could result in a loss of brake function. Barriers should be erected to prevent rope grease from being flung onto the brake paths or onto the Lilley controller.

En algunos sistemas mecánicos, existe una zapata, de un material similar al asbesto (ahora prohibido), que actúa sobre una pista, que puede ser de acero y permite sostener (frenar) el mecanismo en una posición deseada. Más me inclino por pista que por recorrido.
