English term or phrase: wetting current
In a switching device, wetting current is the minimum current that must flow through a set of newly-closed contacts in order to overcome the resistance possibly caused by the oxidation of the contacts.

The sentence in question: Contact closure digital input (isolated 12V supply in order to run 9mA wetting current out and back into the product)
