Explanation:
I know it's not an "official" word, but if you google it, you'll see that it's in fairly common use amongst firearms catalogs, etc. So, if your project allows it, it is highly understandable.

Also, believe it or not, many places (especially rural) may allow a long (visible) firearm and yet frown upon a concealed weapon. This reminds me of the pickup trucks I see in some areas with their gun racks behind the driver... yes, with guns on the rack. For huntin'
