According to the description below, taken from Yahoo Answers, what would be your suggested translation for "invoicing and billing"? Facturación y ...???

"the invoice is the detailed list of goods in a single shipment, usually including their prices and the total value. the receiving department is responsible for checking that all the goods listed are in fact received and in good condition. invoices are prepared by the shipping department from the order received and goods available to be shipped.

the bill is usually issued periodically and includes all invoices as yet unpaid or only partly paid. Interest assessed and/or purchase discounts will be shown, along with an amount that is due by each specified date and/or was due within the past 30, 90, etc. days. bills are issued by the accounts receivable department and sent to the accounts payable department in the customer company."

Karina, me parece que las definiciones de yahoo que encontraste no aclaran demasiado. Bill es el resumen de cuenta (por ej. en el resumen de cuenta de la tarjeta de crédito aparecen tus datos, las formas de pago, los límites de compra, etc..) e invoice es el talón de pago (que generalmente está al pie del resumen de cuenta y se corta por al línea de puntos y que te sella el banco cuando abonás). Telefónica, por ejemplo, te cobra un plus si querés recibir el detalle de las llamadas en el 'billing'. Sólo el invoice tiene validez tributaria.

Asker: Disculpen que sea tan minuciosa, pero "cargo" no se puede confundir con "recargo" y "a cuenta" como un "a cuenta"=por adelantado? Quedaría como un "cargo a cuenta de XXX", en lugar de "en una cuenta".

Asker: Gracias Marina. Solo que en "descripción del item/producto a facturar" el que factura es un tercero y se trata de un item ya facturado (es el uso de un sistema SAP en un área de contabilidad). No es una factura emitida por la empresa si no recibida de un proveedor. Y el "invoice amount" no siempre es el monto a pagar. Se puede hacer otros descuentos posteriores por exenciones y se puede malinterpretar con el pago final. Igualmente me sirvió mucho. Gracias :)!!
