Aparece en un acta de constitución de sociedad, dentro de los objetos de la sociedad. Primero pensé que se refería a "patentes de invención", pero "patents" aparece también en el texto. Lo puse en "English to Spanish" pero tiene toda la pinta de ser un término francés.

Contexto:

"3. To apply for, purchase or otherwise acquire any patents, rights, brevets 'd'invention, licences, concessions and the like conferring any exclusive or non exclusive or limited right to their use, or of any secret or other information as to any invention or process which may seem capable of being used for any of the purposes of the Company".
