There are evidently several errors in your souce text, nevertheless, here's my suggestion for your post (Capitalization used for emphasis, only):
"This implies that A sampling from a side of the corridor should produce a similar abundance AS (one taken) in the centre..."

I thought this text was perfectly written and I was the idiot who couldn't understand it (yes, I'm that insecure), because the whole text is in general well written. So, I thank you for giving me more confidence to face texts written by non-native authors.

Since the author put "that", you can stay close to the what the author put by also using "that" but expanding the construction a little as K Donnelly showed you, if you wish for structural perfection.
Without the sentence (s) that precedes the one in question, it is difficult to determine what it is trying to say. However, in principle, I agree with K. Donnelly that the rendering provided would make more sense. However, what does "this" refer to?

Me temo que ése es el original. Me preguntaron si entendía esa parte y como no entendí mucho, les pregunté a ustedes (pensando que habría algo malo en la oración, como that, than, o as, según sugiere Eski).
